What Baptists Believe #
Baptists are Protestant Christians who, based on the Holy Scriptures and the personal testimony of the Holy Spirit, have believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior.
Core beliefs:
- Holy Scripture — the entire Bible (66 books of the Old and New Testaments) is divinely inspired, infallible, and is the pure Word of God.
- The Trinity — one true and living God eternally exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
- Jesus Christ — the second person of the Trinity, the only begotten Son, true God and true man, who died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice and rose again on the third day.
- Salvation — by unmerited grace through faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross, not by human works.
