We have a Telegram chat – tg.balkan.faith. In the chat, we communicate, discuss spiritual topics, share useful advice about living in Serbia, and much more. There are already about a hundred members, and the number continues to grow daily. To ensure the chat is useful and comfortable for everyone, we have decided to establish some simple communication rules.

The chat communication is conducted in Russian.

The primary principle in the chat is mutual love.

We created this chat to make adaptation and life in Serbia a bit easier for Russian-speaking Christians, and we will be happy to:

  • Provide any possible support to those relocating to Serbia (or considering relocation).
  • Discuss practical issues related to life in Serbia.
  • Reflect on spiritual topics.
  • Help with finding a church.
  • Announce in-person meetings and events.

Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. (Romans 13:8)

Our chat is open not only to Christians but also to anyone seeking communication in Russian in Belgrade or simply in need of help.

At the same time, to avoid conflicts, we refrain from discussing the following topics in the chat:

  • Any topics that might lead to disputes and hinder the goals of this chat, specifically:
    • Comparisons or discussions of denominations, traditions, and church rituals.
    • Territorial disagreements (Kosovo, Transnistria, Crimea, etc.).
    • Geopolitical relations between different countries.
    • Military conflicts.
    • Other political topics.
  • Promotion of non-Christian teachings (e.g., Islam, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Atheism, etc., including via private messages).
  • Questions unrelated to Christian life or life in Serbia.
  • Topics that might potentially or actually violate the laws of Russia or other countries.
  • Trolling and attempts to bypass chat rules.

If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. (Romans 12:18)

We cannot cover everything here, but not everything that is not forbidden is permitted. We hope everyone understands that in this chat, we do not use foul language, insult people who are or are not in the chat, or make personal attacks.

While we do not discuss the above-mentioned topics in our chat, it does not mean we wouldn’t be happy to discuss some of them in private conversations or other chats. We also welcome initiatives to organize meetings where some of these topics might be discussed. Moreover, you can invite participants to such events through announcements in our chat (as long as the event complies with the law).

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. (Hebrews 12:11)

So far, we have rarely applied any disciplinary measures and hope to avoid doing so in the future. However, we reserve the right to restrict the ability to send messages in case of violations of the above-mentioned rules.

Additionally, any messages that contradict the chat rules may be deleted. In exceptional cases, the chat may be switched to silent mode or slow mode for sending messages may be enabled.

The rules are not final and may be amended.
